Every fundraiser, big or small, expands the reach of our community and brings us closer to a treatment for GM1. You don’t need experience, a big network, or a lot of time. You just need a platform, and we work with four trusted options. All donations go directly to the Cure GM1 Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so you never handle the money yourself.
Not sure which to pick? Here’s the short answer: if you want the easiest possible start, use Facebook. If you’re sharing beyond Facebook, use GoFundMe. If you’re in the UK or fundraising internationally, use JustGiving. If you sell things online, use eBay for Charity.
Facebook: easiest for birthdays and quick campaigns
Best if you’re active on Facebook and want to start in under two minutes. Facebook birthday fundraisers are one of the simplest ways to support Cure GM1, your friends can give without ever leaving the app.
GoFundMe: best for sharing everywhere
The most widely recognized platform, ideal for a personal campaign you’ll share by text, email, and social media. Great for events like runs, walks, bake sales, or memorial fundraisers. Donors don’t need an account to give.
JustGiving: best for UK and international supporters
If your friends and family are outside the US, JustGiving handles international currencies and Gift Aid for UK taxpayers, which adds 25 percent to eligible donations at no cost to the donor.
eBay for Charity: turn items into impact
Sell anything on eBay and donate 10 to 100 percent of the sale to Cure GM1, or add a donation at checkout when you buy. Perfect for decluttering with a purpose, and eBay handles the donation automatically.
